Portsmouth Community Tourism Association
The Portsmouth Community Tourism Association (PCTA) is comprised of service providers who reflect the diverse range of products and services in the area. The group was formed in 2009 to promote and develop tourism in the Portsmouth area.
The PCTA is the brainchild of N/NETEDC (North-Northeastern Tourism Environment and Development Committee). Its members include PIRTGA, Cobra Tours, Indian River Snack & Bar, PAYS and PTAC as well as individuals interested in supporting community tourism.
PCTA is a registered non-profit association with its headquarters at the Indian River Tourism Reception Center. This newly built reception centre is an initiative of the N/NETEDC and was funded under the Tourism Sector Development Programme SFA 2006 of the European Union.
Some of the main objectives of PCTA are:
* To promote and build partnerships among stakeholders in and within the environs of the Indian River Reception Center, the Cabrits Cruise Ship Birth and other tourism facilities.
* To provide information and advertising materials, promoting Portsmouth and the North as the number-one Community Tourism Destination in Dominica.
